Today I would like to share with you a website which offers hundreds of opportunities to practise your speaking and listening skills and to copy the correct pronunciation for important phrases and words – if this sounds like something you are interested in, then please visit English Speak.

The English Speak program focuses on teaching spoken English online – and effective online speaking skills development is not something that is offered everywhere, so it is definitely worth a visit. English Speak offers a large amount of audio content – over 100 lessons containing 2500 commonly used words and every day phrases.

Each lesson simulates a natural conversation with a native speaker and presents a real world situation filled with frequently used English vocabulary and grammar. There is also a large emphasis placed on pronunciation – you can choose between normal and slow playback speeds for every conversation, sentence and word and will hear a real human voice, not a computer generated voice.

Although the layout is simple, the idea of this website is great. Just choose an area of interest, click on the audio button to listen and choose between ‘fast’ and ‘slow’ pronunciation. And the best bit about it is that it is free! Enjoy!
